Looks just like it, too

Google developed Android, and now T-Mobile is using it in a phone:
Google has one team of programmers building the software and another professional services group to help support phone makers building Android phones. Now, as T-Mobile's G1 arrives on the market, Google hopes to multiply that by drawing upon the collective energy of outside contributors to the project.
Rico says it looks just like the device that he developed back in college (we talking the mid-70s here) with Ted Kaehler (of, then, the computer science department at CMU and, later, Xerox PARC). Of course, the technology didn't exist to make it work, but it was a hell of a good idea... (And Rico's machine had a printer in it, too, since its purpose was to print out your checks while keeping your checkbook in memory. If anyone's reading this who could make such a thing, that's still a good idea. Of course, a little dot-matrix printer that plugged into your iPhone would do it... You may send Rico royalties via PayPal.)
