But in the "the more that things change the more they stay the same" category, there's a remarkably similar 2-inch cannon (a pair of them, actually) sitting on a plinth outside the county courthouse in Media, Pennsylvania, and I've fondled them regularly over the years.
The only difference is that they're externally cranked, and they were made during the Civil War.
I could have had one, but theft of Federal property (and these memorials remain, technically, Federal property) is frowned upon...
