Both Crowe and Bale are great in their roles, and the photography is some of the best I've ever seen in a movie. (And it looks just like the lighting we were trying for in Four Hand Draw, too.) If you see only one of the new releases this fall, make it this one. Amazingly enough, this is one of those rare sequels that's not only as good, but even better, than the original.
Period guns and leather (when was the last time you saw a Spencer used properly in a movie?), authentic costuming, good sets, marvelous casting and acting, and a great script drawn from the Elmore Leonard story.
Rico says it's a winner.
For an equally glowing review (and why should you take my opinion as gospel, other than the fact you're stupider than you look if you don't), see: http://www.shootingwire.com/
