History for the day: 1983: Beirut attacks

On 23 October 1983, a suicide truck-bombing at the International Airport in Beirut, Lebanon killed over two hundred Marines, eighteen sailors, and three soldiers; a near-simultaneous attack on French forces killed nearly sixty paratroopers.
