Writer's envy

Rico says he finally got through the first book and started the second of Tolkien's trilogy of "The Lord of the Rings".
While the man wrote a zillion words (almost all of them excellent), he did take years (while a tenured professor) to do it, so the fact that Rico can't seem to get his act together to finish his latest might be understandable...
