Nature for the day


The BBC has an article by Harun Mehmedinović about an amazing phenomenon:
For several weeks in late May to early June, the the world's largest gathering of synchronized fireflies appear in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It's mostly centered on the site of Elkmont Ghost Town, where fireflies gather in millions along the Little River. The fireflies all light up at once as their lights blink in this mesmerizing time-lapse video, shot and edited by Harun Mehmedinović.
