No room on the flag, sorry

The New York Times has an article by Pedro Pierluisi entitled: Statehood Is the Only Antidote for What Ails Puerto Rico:

Its 3.5 million people are already American citizens, but only statehood can grant them true equality.

Rico says it's politically a nice notion (and the political parties will doubtless be squabbling over who gets the votes), but where the hell do you put the star on the flag?
