Ben Mathis-Lilley has a
Slate article about
Jared Fogle:
Update, 5:35 pm:
"Subway & Jared Fogle have agreed to suspend their relationship due to the current investigation. Jared is cooperating with authorities."
Update, 1:40 pm: An attorney representing Fogel issued a statement:
"Jared has been cooperating, and continues to cooperate, with law enforcement in their investigation of unspecified charges, and looks forward to its conclusion. He has not been detained, arrested, or charged with any crime."
The statement does not address the question of whether Fogle is being directly investigated on suspicion of possessing child pornography.
The Zionsville (a suburb of Indianapolis), Indiana home of Subway spokesman Jared Fogle was raided by Federal and state authorities investigating a child pornography case, news outlets in the area report. Investigators are said to be removing electronics equipment from Fogle's home; he has not been arrested or charged.
The executive director of Fogle's Jared Foundation childhood health initiative, Russell Taylor, was arrested in April of 2015 and charged with possessing and producing child pornography. Authorities have not said whether the search of Fogle's home is related to that case.
Rico says you get a gut reaction sometimes, and
Fogle was a guy you just
knew was wrong... (And he is
not likely to 'look forward to its conclusion'...)
