Philadelphia gets first snow

The Philadelphia area saw its first snowfall of the season overnight. Small amounts of snow fell throughout the region, with some places in the suburbs seeing up to about two inches, according to the National Weather Service.
In the region, West Caln Township, with 2.1 inches, had the highest snowfall total reported, the weather service said.
Also in Chester County, Elverson had 1.8 inches, Warwick had 0.9 inches, Exton reported 0.8 inches and Atglen saw 0.6 inches. Wayne in Delaware County recorded an inch.
The National Weather Service said most precipitation at Philadelphia International Airport fell as rain, with a trace amount of snow.
Parts of the Poconos and northwest New Jersey saw several inches of snow, with the Highland Lake in Sussex County reporting the highest total, four inches.
For today, the weather service is calling for sun and a high temperature of 43 degrees. Forecasters say to expect a windy day, with gusts of up to thirty mph possible.
The low overnight is expected to dip to 29 degrees, and highs of 44 and 48 degrees are forecasted for Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Another round of rain mixed with snow could move through the region Sunday night into early Monday.
The below-normal temperatures are likely to stick around, the National Weather Service says, with high temperatures expected to remain below fifty through at least late next week.
