Good place, once upon a time


Rico says his mother and her late husband used to live in Arivaca, Arizona, some eleven miles from the border. They had some problems with illegals coming through, but nothing dangerous, fortunately.
The New York Times, however, had an article in the 27 June 2014 issue about the current state of things in Arivaca. Seems that the Border Patrol has set up shop on the only road out of town, and is stopping everyone and asking their nationality. The ostensible reason is to prevent smuggling, whether of people, drugs, or gubs, but independent observers have seen no arrests, and people are growing irritated...
