Idiot for the day, busted by Mom

Vinny Vella and Dana DiFilippo have a Philadelphia Daily News article about a local villain and a local heroine:
A tip for would-be bandits: don't let Mom watch footage of you committing the crime. She's likely to hand you over to police, as one fourteen-year-old boy learned the hard way yesterday.
Police say the teen, whose name isn't being released because he's a juvenile, was escorted to 19th District headquarters after his mom recognized him terrorizing a Wynnefield beauty-supply store on surveillance-camera footage.
"We definitely say kudos to his mother for doing this," said Lieutenant John Stanford, a police spokesman. "It can be rough for parents to acknowledge this kind of thing, but it's good to see that they don't tolerate this behavior."
The teen is charged with simple assault, aggravated assault, theft, and related offenses after he allegedly jumped a 67-year-old employee inside Judy Wigs on 54th Street near Arlington, Stanford said.
It wasn't the first time he'd targeted the store, according to police. He allegedly stole seventy dollars from the shop's register during a robbery on 29 April 2014.
In the infamous footage that led to his arrest, the teen can be seen demanding money from the clerk, who apparently recognized him from the earlier incident. She asks him to leave, but he refuses. The fourteen-year-old, whose height and stocky build make him appear much older, turns violent, pushing her into a glass case, and then kicking and punching her until she collapses on the floor. The woman suffered cuts to her left hand and bruises on her head, police said.
Rico says this is why they call it felony stupid...
