History for the day


Dallas Jensen has a Slate article and video (above) about an old shipwreck in an unlikely place:
A vessel called The City of Chester, built in 1875, suffered a heavy blow when it was rammed by a huge steamer in the dense fog of San Francisco Bay early on 22 August 1888. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said this week that it had located the site.
Rico says history is always interesting...
