Movie review for the day

The BBC has a review of Nymphomaniac:
The explicit film by Lars von Trier made headlines when it screened at the Berlin Film Festival. But what did those in the audience make of it? Shia LaBeouf hit the headlines recently when he walked out of a news conference for Nymphomaniac at the Berlin Film Festival, later appearing on the red carpet with a paper bag over his head.
The film is controversial enough on its own: through graphic sex scenes, director Lars von Trier recounts the erotic history of a woman (played at different ages by Stacy Martin and Charlotte Gainsbourg) from childhood to the age of fifty.
In 2013, producer Louise Vesth told The Hollywood Reporter: "We shot the actors pretending to have sex, and then the body doubles, who really did have sex, and in post-production we digitally imposed the two. So above the waist it will be the star, and then below the waist it will be the doubles."
Alongside footage from the Nymphomaniac news conference, critics at the screening in Berlin discussed the content of the film in this clip.
