Now with prescriptions

Laura Stampler has a Time article about Glass:
While Google Glass has offered a wide array of technologically advanced uses, it was lacking on one very practical front: the glasses weren’t helping anyone with their actual sight.
But Google has taken a step forward on the vision front by offering prescription titanium frames, coming in both transparent and shaded lenses. The customizable frames, catering corrective factors of +4 to -4, cost an additional $225 on top of the $1,500 base Google Glass price. They will be subsidized by VSP, an optical health insurance provider.
Glass wearers can now pick frames that look like actual, more fashion-forward, glasses. While Glass is currently only available to a limited number of Explorers, Google plans to launch the product to consumers in late 2014.

Rico says he won't be buying one anytime soon, but they are cool...
