Movie review for the day

Rico says he and the ladyfriend watched Precious (her Netflix pick) recently. A poignant and disturbing film, it's about several of Rico's least favorite behaviors: rape, incest, and child abuse.
It stars a lot of people you never heard of, including Gabourey Sidibe as Precious, but also has Mariah Carey (photo, top) and Lenny Kravitz (photo, middle) in almost-invisible roles:

 

The mother (played by Mo'Nique, photo, bottom) is culpable in all this, but the father (who you barely see on screen) ends up giving all involved his HIV infection, and dies a miserable and richly-deserved death.
All in all, a richly depressing movie, which Rico says you should not watch unless you need a good cry...
