History for the day

On 17 April 1961, about fifteen hundred CIA-trained Cuban exiles launched the disastrous Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba in a failed attempt to overthrow the government of Fidel Castro.

Rico says that this stupidity (Eisenhower-planned but Kennedy-executed) has, fifty-four years later, fucked up Rico's intentions to see the 150th anniversary of the arrival of the CSS Stonewall in Havana harbor...
