At it again

Harold Hutchison has an article in Soldier of Fortune:
Senator Dianne Feinstein called the NRA, the country’s oldest civil-rights organization “venal” during an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union to discuss her gun-grab bill. The California Senator, with a lengthy track record of hostility to Second Amendment rights, made those comments while being interviewed by Candy Crowley.
The Senator’s comments came as she admitted that passing her semi-auto ban would be “the hardest of the hard” on the show. “They come after you, they put together large amounts of money to defeat you,” she added, ignoring the fact that the NRA membership had climbed by over 250,000 new members since the 14 December 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and anti-gun extremists’ efforts to exploit the tragedy.
Feinstein resorted to name-calling after already having made an apparent retreat on at least one major provision: regulating existing semi-automatic firearms that her bill would deem “assault weapons” under the National Firearms Act. “We are different from the New York state law. We do not require registration of grandfathered weapons. In that regard, we are also different from the California law. In a sense, it`s a little more moderate in that regard because the gun organizations regard registration as, quote, ‘the first step to confiscation,’” she said on CBSFace the Nation.
One way or another, she vows to bring her gun ban for a vote. “If 'assault weapons' is left out of the package… I've been assured by the majority leader I'll be able to do it as an amendment on the floor,” she said on State of the Union.
Rico says you'd think she didn't like gubs. (Okay, okay, the ghost of George Moscone is making her do this...)
