People around South Jersey might have thought they were imagining a portent of things when a rumble went through the area shortly after midnight when stores opened their doors on Black Friday.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the 2.1-magnitude earthquake was centered in the small town fifteen miles southeast of Philadelphia.
It was nothing like the 5.8-magnitude earthquake centered in Virginia that rattled New Jersey and Philadelphia in August of 2011. That one wobbled floors and shook buildings.
But last night's earthquake was the second to hit New Jersey this month. On 5 November, a 2.0-magnitude quake struck the Ringwood area in Passaic County.
