Rico says that the whole delivering-the-paper-at-dawn-every-day thing
will go the way of
Newsweek. As it is, the print, fold, and deliver via vehicle routine is a ridiculous waste of trees, energy, and gas (and, on days like today, plastic bags because of the rain), and won't be missed, except by a bunch of papermaking and printing companies. Fortunately, all
Rico's friends from the old days in the print and paper businesses, like
Hume Crawford, the
Dammeier boys,
Paul Danchik,
Brian Fried,
George Gananian,
Phil Kelly,
Ron Hamacher, and
Hansford Ray are even older than him and will soon be, if they're not already, retired.
