History for the day

On 13 August 1961, Berlin was divided as East Germany sealed off the border between the city's eastern and western sectors in order to halt the flight of refugees.

Rico says we all know how well that turned out... (Rico once stood, in 1969, right where this photo was taken, when there was a serious wall, but, courtesy of Dan Rampe, Rico has a piece of the Wall to prove it's gone now.)
