Elvis for the day

1 May 1967: music sensation Elvis Presley married Priscilla Bealieu in a ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada. The rock icon had met Bealieu in 1959 during his stint in the Army while Bealieu, then only fourteen years old, was living in West Germany with her father, an Air Force officer. A few years later, when his military service was complete, Presley was able to persuade Beaulieu's father to allow her to move to America, where she would attend a Catholic school while living with the singer's parents in a home on the Graceland estate.
