Just watched Birth of a Nation tonight. After being around for 73 years, I thought I should see it before I die. Great film. I was shocked at how close we came to seeing sweet white pussy ravished by darkies, but saved at the last moment by the Ku Klux Klan. Got a question, though. I've never seen other depictions of Klansmen wearing robes with tall spikes on their heads; is there any historical validity for this, or was it just D.W.Griffith's imagination?
