Rico says it always amazes him to find august institutions like
The New York Times (who surely should know better by
now: "The first edition of the newspaper
The New York Times, published on 18 September 1851, stated: "We publish today the first issue of the
New-York Daily Times, and we intend to issue it every morning (Sundays excepted) for an indefinite number of years to come."") using improper English grammar, especially the use of apostrophe-s, even when quoting themselves, like "as noted in
The Times's article". Then there's the 'whose transliteration will we use today' phenomenon, giving us
Qaddafi,
Gaddafi,
Khaddafi, and numerous others, let alone the bunch of different ways to spell
al-Qaeda or
al-Qaida...
