Not Woody's finest

While pretty (though not as funny as Woody's stuff normally is), Midnight in Paris was, charitably, a fucking turkey. Bad enough that he picked Owen Wilson to star as Gil, but Woody didn't begin to delve into the fascinating lives of the people that Gil meets on his midnight forays into the past of Paris, including Cole Porter, F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, Josephine Baker, Juan Belmonte, Alice B. Toklas and Gertrude Stein, Pablo Picasso, Djuna Barnes, Salvador Dali, Man Ray, Luis Buñuel, T.S. Eliot, Henri Matisse, Henri De Toulouse-Lautrec, Paul Gauguin, and Edgar Degas.
