The teenager suspected of being linked to the notorious hacking group LulzSec has been charged with five offences, including an attack on the British security service. 19-year-old Ryan Cleary from Essex was arrested recently, believed to be one of the masterminds behind LulzSec's widespread attacks on international businesses and intelligence agencies. Cleary is also accused of hacking into the Serious Organised Crime Agency, as well plotting attacks on music networks and the porn industry. Police also examined Cleary for any Sony data relating to the PSN hacks back in April.Rico says that 'plotting attacks on the porn industry' could get a hacker whacked; the Mafia has no sense of humor...
Cleary was once associated with Anonymous, the infamous hackers linked to the PSN attacks, but turned his back on the group and hacked the AnonOps site himself.
Cleary was collared by police after giving an interview with tech website thinq.co.uk. IT journalist James Nixon, who interviewed the teen, described him as "intelligent and articulate". He also warned that LulzSec's "just for kicks" attitude made the group "very dangerous".
LulzSec has distanced itself from Cleary on a number of occasions on Twitter. The group said that the arrested hacker is "at best, mildly associated with us."
