A green badge of cowardice for Rico, then, thank you very much

Rico says it took awile, reading The Red Badge of Courage on-line, to get to the definition of what that was: an 'honorable' wound.
Besides the whole book being hideously florid writing, that could only have been written by someone, like the author Steven Crane, who'd never seen combat, or been wounded.
There is no courage in being wounded...
