...and the aluminum horse they flew in on

Rico says piss him off, pay the price, and so he gets to rant about his recent trip to North Carolina, now that he's safely home. The story of the ticketing process is overlong and complex, but it was for a visit to (aww) his mother. It was originally scheduled to happen with Southwest, a splendid airline, but the situation required a change in plans, and the only solution was US Airways.

However much money might have been saved on the fare by the ticketing change, it was more than lost in the ridiculous baggage charge ($25 each way for a single bag) imposed by US Airways.
Then there was the flight attendant's rant about turning off your cell phones before the flight ("Airplane mode is insufficient" was the classic part; how do you 'turn off' an iPhone?), and the two-buck-minimum for any snacks on the flight...
If US Airways is wondering why Rico won't be back, there you are.
