Movie review of the day

Rico says he watched Shooter yesterday. Based on the novel by Stephen Hunter, it stars, yup, Markie Mark (aka Mark Wahlberg) as Bob Lee Swagger (notice how assassins have three names; it's traditional since Oswald), a Marine sniper who gets hornswoggled into being the fall guy for an assassination. The Archbishop of Zimbabwe, standing in for Archbishop Tutu of South Africa, gets whacked (why, who knows?), and our boy Swagger is the prime suspect. Danny Glover plays a CIA bad guy, and there are several good-looking women: Kate Mara and (more to Rico's taste) Rhona Mitra (shown here) and Trish Allen. Ned Beatty appears in his usual smarmy role as a Senator.
