It ain't the tools, it's the artist

Rico says a guy named Jim Duffy sent an email to Rico's friend Bill Calloway, who forwarded it to him:

Don Marco was born in northern Minnesota in the late 1920s. His interest in art was evident even before starting school. As a young adult in the Army Air Corp, he began his life's career in Air Traffic Control, which continued until his retirement from Honolulu International Airport in 1973.
Much of his spare time was spent as a professional artist. Before retirement, Don began developing a technique to create fine art using Crayola crayons. Shortly after retiring, he published his first print. Living in Southern California, his work was in demand, including commissions from Burt Reynolds and a one-man show at Reynolds' Dinner Theater in Florida.
Hard to imagine these are done with crayons!

Rico says it's a damn shame that Dick Teater's American Rendezvous Magazine (of which Rico was, once upon a time, the Modern Arms editor) isn't still being published; this guy would be perfect for the covers...
Even with the internet it took some time, but Rico was finally able to get this guy's stuff in front of the (hopefully) right person at the agency for Crayola, so maybe he'll eventually get some support from the crayon manufacturer...
