Abraham Lincoln. Barack Obama. What could these two guys have in common? Well, Lincoln was elected in 1847 to be a member of the House from the 7th district of Illinois, serving until 1849. He held no further public office until he was elected President in November of 1860. Obama was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1997, serving until 2004. He was then elected to the Senate of the United States in 2005, and elected President in November of 2008.
So, technically, Obama's had more time in office, and more offices, than did Lincoln.
Rico says he wonders if Obama will do as well as President, and hopes he can avoid being assassinated...
