Suspended? By his thumbs, over a fire

USA Today has the story, by Rick Daysog of the Honolulu Advertiser, of two pilots of go! airline that fell asleep between Honolulu and Hilo. Rico says that's only a 45-minute flight. Okay, the pilot has 'severe obstructive sleep apnea'; so does Rico. Hell, they can wear oxygen masks if they need to... And what's the co-pilot's excuse? Partying? It was a ten o'clock in the morning flight, fer crissakes. They got 45- and 60-day suspensions from the FAA. (The stupid agency that changed the rules to allow airlines to not have a flight engineer on board, who might've been able to stay awake...)
They got fired by go! back in April. They should have been put in a cage at Honolulu International so passengers could call them names and throw things...
