Oops; sometimes publicity can be a bad thing

Newsweek has an article on a woman in Salt Lake City who paid some South Korean scientists a lot of money to clone her 'beloved' pit bull. Her problem is, she may be the same woman "who 31 years ago was accused of abducting a Mormon missionary in England, handcuffing him to a bed, and making him her sex slave". The problem? "She jumped bail and was never brought to justice."
Given that the woman in Salt Lake City and the accused have the same last name, the same birth date, the same Social Security number, and the same hometown would imply that they're the same person.
Authorities are investigating.
