Bo Diddley died yesterday at the age of 79. Born Elias Bates, he invented rock and roll, but never got what he was due: "I am owed. I never got paid," Diddley said, noting that
"A dude with a pencil is worse than a cat with a machine gun."
But his lyrics were the best, including these from
