Great theory, bad practice

To ensure that Third World children grow up as miserably as possible, the One Laptop Per Child project is putting both Linux (good) and Windows XP (bad) on their machines. "The availability of Windows on the system will give customers more choice in operating systems and let them use Windows-based educational software and tools, the parties said. Customers and partners worldwide have asked for Windows on the XO, they said."

RIco says Nicolas Negroponte is brilliant, but this isn't...

As Fake Steve Jobs put it so well: "Nothing like a bloated operating system on a tiny processor with not enough RAM, right? Just when you thought life couldn't get worse for people in the Third World, sure enough the Borgtards find a way to do it. What's next? Seeding clouds over Burma?"
