The police had to extinguish the Olympic flame in Paris and transport it by bus, due to the number of protestors against the Chinese intervention in Tibet: "Three thousand French police on foot, motorcycle, bicycle, and roller-skates were on hand Monday to protect the torch from pro-Tibet demonstrators."
