A sad thing to report

Rico's oldest friend has chosen, for reasons still not totally clear to Rico, to remove himself from our friendship. This is a sad thing. It may or may not get fixed, but Rico hopes it does, and soon.
Until it does, there's a hole exactly his size and shape in Rico's world, and Rico is very unhappy about that...
