Gun control should be using two hands

The whole gun-nation is awaiting the Supreme Court's ruling (in June, apparently; it's going to be a long spring in the blogosphere) on Washington, DC's ban on handguns. CNN has a nice little article on the issue. "The issue is one that has polarized judges and politicians for decades: Do the Second Amendment's 27 words bestow gun ownership as an individual right, or is it a collective one -- aimed at the civic responsibilities of state militias, and therefore subject, perhaps, to strict government regulation?"

Rico's posted on this several times before, so he won't belabor the point, but if SCOTUS reviews the contemporary writings on the amendment, there's no way they can construe it as other than an individual right. If that overturns (as it should) all the bullshit gun control laws in places like Maryland and Massachusetts and Chicago, Illinois, and San Francisco, oh fucking well...
