A whole new investment opportunity: "The International Cable Protection Committee, an association of 86 submarine cable operators dedicated to protect submarine cables, says more than 95% of transoceanic telecoms and data traffic are carried by submarine cables, and the rest by satellite."
Seems two cables in the Med off Egypt went down this week, disrupting internet traffic in much of the Mideast, India, and South Africa. A dragging ship's anchor is suspected. Traffic is being rerouted.
And here Rico had assumed most of this stuff went via satellite...
