Seymour's First Law: simple models don't work

That would be Doctor Richard Seymour, the famous oceanographer, of course, not Rico. ("I guess these guys see what they want to see to fit their theory. Somehow the earth knew in 1100 BC that Vesuvius was going to erupt 600 years later so it decided to cool down in order fit the model. Realizing its mistake, the earth warmed up from 1600 AD until almost 2000 AD in spite of more volcanic eruptions than we can count. This last episode would support a theory that cold spells caused volcanoes instead of the other way around. Simple models don't work. Seymour's first law."
But the chart does appear to confirm Rico's theory that all we need is a couple of good volcanic eruptions and we'll be longing for the days of global warming...
