Philadelphians can expect another day of near-record-high temperatures. After Tuesday's high of 84 degrees tied the record for 9 April, set in 1959 and 1991, 10 April is expected to be even warmer. The National Weather Service is calling for a high of 86 degrees, with mostly sunny skies. But the high will have to surpass that temperature to hit the record for the day of 87 degrees, set in 1922.
Other places in the region could also see records today. The weather service says temperatures should reach 85 degrees in Wilmington, which would top the previous record for the day of 84.
Today should be the last day with temperatures near record highs for a while. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms this evening, mainly between 9 p.m and 1 a.m.
The weather service says there's also chance of showers on Thursday, with an expected high near 68. Friday will be rainy, with potential thunderstorms and periods of heavy rain, with a high near 66. And, for the weekend, highs of 62 and 61 degrees are predicted for Saturday and Sunday.
Rico says that the thunderstorm hit Wednesday night...
